Butters

Cocoa Butter: Moisturizing, silky texture; reduce appearance of stretch marks, emollient, conditioner, rich in antioxidants and Vitamin E; rich chocolate aroma; lathers well, adds firmness and a creamy stable lather to soap; good for lip balms and lotions

Mango Butter: Good emollient, helps prevent drying of skin (moisturizing), conditions skin

Shea Butter: Helps skin retain elasticity, anti-aging, diminish scars, moisturize and revitalize hair, diminish acne, helps with sunburn, bug bites, and rashes; emollient; moisturizer for soaps, skincare, haircare, and lip balm; natural SPF 4

 

 

 

Carrier Oils

Almond Oil (Sweet): Emollient (softening), softens and smooths irritated skin; skin conditioner; light oil that adds to conditioning and moisturizing feel of soap; mild soap with creamy lather, white bar; SPF 5

Apricot Kernel Oil: Has high proportions of skin nourishing vitamin A and Vitamin E, outstanding moisturizing and conditioning properties, adds creamy, stable lather to soaps; soft bar with small bubbles

Avocado Oil: Contains Vitamins A, B, D, and E, contains proteins; easily absorbed by skin, regenerate skin cells; replenish damaged skin and hair, skin conditioner; creates creamy lather; SPF 15

Canola Oil: Moisturizing, creates creamy stable lather in soaps; produces whiter soap bar

Castor Oil: Soothing and lubricating, quickly absorbed; rich creamy wonderful lather; acts like a humectant and draws moisture to the skin; used in lipsticks, shampoo bars; too much produces a soft soap

Coconut Oil: Mild and cleans well; fluffy quick lather, hard bar of soap, high cleansing power can be somewhat drying; natural SPF 8

Glycerin: Emollient, humectant; clear, colorless

Grapeseed Oil: Lightweight skin conditioner; non-allergenic; good for oily or acne-prone skin, helps tighten skin; antioxidant; increases slippery feel of soap, adds creaminess to lather, softens soap slightly; short shelf life

Jojoba Oil: Offers traits of oils and waxes; moisturizer and humectant, allows skin to repair and rebalance, coats damaged hair shafts; good for creams and shampoo bars; adds smoothness to soap; increases shelf life of bars; SPF 4

Lanolin: Used in a wide variety of applications, from lotions that soften rough heels, to soothing severely dry skin, to easing the chapped and cracked skin on the nipples of nursing mothers; natural and organic mainly known for its moisturizing effects on the skin; penetrates deeper into dry skin, and doesn’t just moisturize, but also creates a barrier in the underlying layers of skin to prevent moisture from escaping; popular with people who have reoccurring skin conditions that cause scaling and itching skin, as the moisturizing properties of this cream ease the itching, while making the skin softer; skin that is dry, cracked, and bleeding can also benefit as the moisture barrier it creates keeps the skin from repeatedly cracking and helps to seal in moisture

Olive Oil: Moisturizer, skin conditioning; makes a mild and creamy lather and a soft bar of soap; long shelf life;  SPF 8

Palm Oil*: Cleans well, mild; will make a hard brittle soap that holds up to moisture; creamy stable lather with few bubbles; combine with coconut and olive oils; speeds soapmaking process.  *All of our palm oil is certified sustainably sourced and organic.

Palm Kernel Oil: Moisturizing in moderation, too much can cause drying; hard white bar with a rich bubbly lather

Rice Bran Oil: Adds conditioning properties to soap and makes a rich creamy lather; extremely stable makes for long shelf life

Safflower Oil: Lightweight skin conditioner, rinses clean; makes a soft white soap

Sunflower Oil: Softens skin, rinses clean; short shelf life

Vitamin E Oil: Delay rancidity of products; softens dry skin; antioxidant
